MASTERCLASS ON GOVERNANCE TRENDS: CORPORATE GOVERNANCE INSIGHTS FOR 2024
The Institutional Investors Council Malaysia (IIC) collaborated with Glass Lewis to organise the Corporate Governance Insight 2024 Workshop, exclusively for IIC members. The workshop was held on 14 August 2024 at the Boardroom of Principal Asset Management Berhad.
Glass Lewis was represented by Mr. Stanley Soosur, Country Head – Australia; Mr. Philip Foo CFA, CA, Vice President, APAC Research and Engagement; and Mr. Damien K., Director, Institutional Relations APAC. They provided in-depth insights on the following topics:
• Key Trends Observed during Malaysian Proxy Voting in 2024
• Comparing Trends with the Broader Southeast Asian Market
• Overview of Global Stewardship and Governance Trends from the 2024 AGM Season
WORKSHOP ON CLIMATE-RELATED DISCLOSURES
The Institutional Investors Council Malaysia (IIC) successfully concluded a workshop in collaboration with S&P Global. The Workshop on Climate-Related Disclosures commenced on 18 July 2024 at the KWAP Auditorium.
The workshop offered insights into:
• The Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Framework
• In-depth analysis of climate risk, including practical examples and real-world case studies
• Net Zero and Sustainable Finance
• Data and Trends on Social Issues and Biodiversity
The event featured two highly experienced speakers: Ms. Sannya Joseph, CFA, Head of APAC ESG Client Engagement, and Mr. Haikal Razak, Sustainability Specialist, who provided valuable insights into the discussed topics.

Cohort 2
The training was held at the Securities Commission Malaysia and was exclusively available for IIC members. The main area of focus during the training were ESG analysis and valuation Integration as well as ESG-integrated portfolio construction and management. The training program is a collaboration between IIC and CMM together with PRI Academy.
